Shakespeare 70 is pleased to announce open auditions for our October 2023 production of William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, directed by Curt Foxworth.
Seeking 6-8 actors (male-presenting, ages 18+, any background)

ABOUT THE SHOW
This production will be edited and directed for a modern audience. It aims to explore what about this 400-year-old text still speaks to actors and audiences alike, with a particular eye on the complex dynamics between men.

Auditions will take place in the Don Evans Black Box Theatre (Kendall Hall at TCNJ, 2000 Pennington Rd., Ewing, NJ)
APPOINTMENTS & PREPARATION
Please fill out the audition form to sign up. Appointments are strongly encouraged, though walk-ins will be seen on an availability basis.
If you are unable to attend in-person auditions, please email us about setting up a time to audition via Zoom. We will do our best to accommodate these requests within reason.
Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Sides will be emailed one week prior to auditions.

ABOUT REHEARSALS
The read-thru will take place in August, and rehearsals will begin around Labor Day. We will rehearse 1-2 nights during the week and one weekend day, then with greater frequency once October arrives. Please let us know about ALL potential conflicts between August 15 and October 23, 2023.
We will continue to follow all the latest TCNJ/State-driven Covid Safety requirements.
CASTING INFORMATION
Seeking 6 to 8 male-presenting actors, ages 18+, any background. Roles include Brutus, Cassius, Mark Antony, Caesar, and others. Seeking one actor to play an instrument and sing (simultaneously). All actors will play multiple roles.
